<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Looking at my scrap basket I realized it was time to do something with those small pieces of fabric that I hate to toss. I have been making a lot of hexies. There are several different techniques for making them. They can be basted in the front or the back. I like my basting to show on the backside of the hexie. This is the technique to I prefer to use.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN940Ko4a1CMJguqHJ-XSnc6D26OmlfweoQw_ZNXhdweZj98VrdrTv1OmPo8b2wylPQil9yHnvJgXnGV32Fwm6s0jnO46s2fOdgRoVeJsYIvTNnSdr70ocG-q3FpnzS3Sqnhf1rlJWxQWb/s1600/DSCN4793.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN940Ko4a1CMJguqHJ-XSnc6D26OmlfweoQw_ZNXhdweZj98VrdrTv1OmPo8b2wylPQil9yHnvJgXnGV32Fwm6s0jnO46s2fOdgRoVeJsYIvTNnSdr70ocG-q3FpnzS3Sqnhf1rlJWxQWb/s1600/DSCN4793.JPG" height="352" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are the supplies I use for making them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Fabric scraps</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Needle and thread</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There hexagon templates available online in different sizes. I wanted to be able to use my small scraps and decided on 1" hexies. I found this <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E3FSIQQ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00E3FSIQQ&linkCode=as2&tag=ginderellas01-20&linkId=4VMWADTP2H5AIU6X%22%3EFiskars%20Hexagon%20Squeeze%20Punch,%20Medium%20(159070-1001)%3C/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=ginderellas01-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00E3FSIQQ%22%20width=%221%22%20height=%221%22%20border=%220%22%20alt=%22%22%20style=%22border:none%20!important;%20margin:0px%20!important;%22%20/%3E" target="_blank"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Fiskars Hexagon Punch</span> </a>that makes 1" hexagons on Amazon for around $9.00 With the punch I know they are exactly the same size each time unlike me having to cut a paper template. I cut my 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock into 1 1/4" strips and punched away. You can make anywhere from 60-70 hexagon templates on a sheet of card stock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixq0kf5dqrHYgrccl3f_WIsq-Pcfwim1PkEYyZFjeCfXT4SySko_huX2WoWvtLyrWQ0wH1vt1Y2aUusaxRfFU7rd5G853HytW-LacYBZa0ot2PNeq-DEY76xuKF-_Fq02BHx0tvuDIVbxg/s1600/1-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixq0kf5dqrHYgrccl3f_WIsq-Pcfwim1PkEYyZFjeCfXT4SySko_huX2WoWvtLyrWQ0wH1vt1Y2aUusaxRfFU7rd5G853HytW-LacYBZa0ot2PNeq-DEY76xuKF-_Fq02BHx0tvuDIVbxg/s1600/1-4.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1. Take a paper hexie and swipe it with your glue stick and place it on your fabric scrap. I really like using the disappearing purple glue stick so I can actually see where I swipe it and that way I don't over do my glue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. Cut the fabric leaving anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" of fabric around your paper hexie. I prefer to cut 1/4", it is easier for me to fold and sew.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3. Thread your needle and knot the end. I use an applique needle because it is a little more flexible when sewing small stuff. Fold over 1 edge and fold over the next edge to make a mitered corner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stitch through the first fold into the second.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4. Bring you needle back to the first fold and through the second fold again. You should have a nice small stitch holding the corner together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2GVopR3ESRg0Nk4nlvhUW4VAY43Zw_Je39K8DYhe-51Y0Ta1_Onjl-UlcFgyPcXfffAEGOLNfaGqJYh2puPlBXL0OmbcMdBuIumBo38eh9_d2i1zOxim17nueOmCz_BS17HIBLHibw3nT/s1600/5-8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2GVopR3ESRg0Nk4nlvhUW4VAY43Zw_Je39K8DYhe-51Y0Ta1_Onjl-UlcFgyPcXfffAEGOLNfaGqJYh2puPlBXL0OmbcMdBuIumBo38eh9_d2i1zOxim17nueOmCz_BS17HIBLHibw3nT/s1600/5-8.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
5. Fold the next piece of fabric to make a mitered corner and repeat making the small stitch.<br />
<br />
6. Continue folding and stitching around the hexie. When you are at the end just pull your needle through the middle and cut your thread.<br />
<br />
7. Backside of a finished hexie<br />
<br />
8. Front of a finished hexie.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp-tfpY5dLy2aB2B4H41nFebufw_57prT6Izp3uYqQra5ciGs25g9HYyexDfdF4A7o1pzWkar7ytO_9ldfVPUMk7NViWy3qD4oRq5oCfYGevKhwJgud5IYwq_yIkQFWHyFGJwLMUBBdDzh/s1600/DSCN4817.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp-tfpY5dLy2aB2B4H41nFebufw_57prT6Izp3uYqQra5ciGs25g9HYyexDfdF4A7o1pzWkar7ytO_9ldfVPUMk7NViWy3qD4oRq5oCfYGevKhwJgud5IYwq_yIkQFWHyFGJwLMUBBdDzh/s1600/DSCN4817.jpg" height="370" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I always cut out a stack of hexies at a time and then I have them ready to sew.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhgdYQAsP5p4_uRleCYyHlC5BwOS0UAJMFbrpiC2YaOqMJdcfiJZ3D2oSr5G2ULUO_enYHqfBQOjdvdhH5KV6MOnW3uFgcv5ccqDUIziekTFqjtJofRgAbEXZtIvzw028EveWAAP-7jUCo/s1600/DSCN4828.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhgdYQAsP5p4_uRleCYyHlC5BwOS0UAJMFbrpiC2YaOqMJdcfiJZ3D2oSr5G2ULUO_enYHqfBQOjdvdhH5KV6MOnW3uFgcv5ccqDUIziekTFqjtJofRgAbEXZtIvzw028EveWAAP-7jUCo/s1600/DSCN4828.JPG" height="341" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I am finished I store them in a box until I have a project I want to use them in.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will have a future post showing them stitched together. Basically you whip stitch them together and remove the paper when done stitching. </div>

I have a added a couple of round pink pincushions to <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/ginderellas" target="_blank">my Etsy shop</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pincushion measures around 4"wide and 1" tall and is filled with natural crushed walnut shells. Each has a mini spool pin to match.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When looking over my plant containers this spring I had these black containers that really were in need of something. It was time to give them new life and I decided to try spray painting them with a Rust-Oleum Multicolor texture paint thats is made for outdoors. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhPyDU2vet1fK9Z0hUHoPwZtbkguzarvTAE3qxAWNX8TTIjUod4BZsgS2flqscEDb-DLSW6DcjEYPU_ch4JNgtHZbHQCdSI_n053-270IieumZ6pyb-vw80gH_eLB0o4OF3b0GIDHPTwN0/s1600/DSCN4523.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhPyDU2vet1fK9Z0hUHoPwZtbkguzarvTAE3qxAWNX8TTIjUod4BZsgS2flqscEDb-DLSW6DcjEYPU_ch4JNgtHZbHQCdSI_n053-270IieumZ6pyb-vw80gH_eLB0o4OF3b0GIDHPTwN0/s1600/DSCN4523.JPG" height="320" width="308" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was my first time using this type of paint and I am happy with the results. I really like the multicolors and it has soft texture to give it a much better look than a flat spray paint would have.</div>

There are some hungry rabbits around here that are always eating the flowers. Since these will be on the patio at perfect height for them, I chose these flowers in hope that they will leave them alone.</div>

Oh... the rabbits did nibble on the lobelia a bit at first but now have pretty much stayed away from the flowers. Now all it needs to do is grow some more and fill in. </div>

A new craft book called "Craft it Now" came out this month and I am thrilled to have my hand needle pincushion featured in it. There is a variety of over 75 different projects in this book. They are simple projects so you can get instant gratification! I can't wait to try a few out myself. If you get a chance check it out. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I recently bought this cherry fabric with nothing special in mind, I just thought it would be a fun fabric to have in my stash. I decided to try a head wrap with summer coming I like to wear my hair up when it is hot. Which I am hoping for some warm weather soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPqHTsrGugHDuQZgFeVKW3gdd0HOAvTK9AKG78H_x_ZbezbenDID-9gwyalHJxhaKRf80QaYokwFa0ux7m2FqCyF1AHmRBSZxMDDDr3WttLvBkGTFVMffQ4CnQM8nbxsaVk9dD3JjQFz80/s1600/Head+Band+stp1-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPqHTsrGugHDuQZgFeVKW3gdd0HOAvTK9AKG78H_x_ZbezbenDID-9gwyalHJxhaKRf80QaYokwFa0ux7m2FqCyF1AHmRBSZxMDDDr3WttLvBkGTFVMffQ4CnQM8nbxsaVk9dD3JjQFz80/s1600/Head+Band+stp1-4.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will need around 1/4 yard of fabric. I folded it in half and cut 2 strips 4" by 37".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The template for the points at the ends I used a piece of card stock 4"x5" and folded in half the long way. Then I drew a gradual curved line from the middle down to the bottom right side and cut out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmz290CMWH2aAaQVpf73r0d4089wPN9KHgRFeXcx_HYsoxZcc83xV3adkA-jYRod92oWsHoUjWyuQW7T1mfQXL7aDVv1mt143E7VoRIi9J3n_QkOxjgCqLj6lj9UunJ7UZVZVQ0kXTFCXj/s1600/Head+Band+stp5-8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmz290CMWH2aAaQVpf73r0d4089wPN9KHgRFeXcx_HYsoxZcc83xV3adkA-jYRod92oWsHoUjWyuQW7T1mfQXL7aDVv1mt143E7VoRIi9J3n_QkOxjgCqLj6lj9UunJ7UZVZVQ0kXTFCXj/s1600/Head+Band+stp5-8.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With the fabric still folded in half the long way, I put my template at the ends and traced on the outside edge. Do this to both pieces and cut out. Take both pieces and match right sides together and pin. Using a 1/4" seam allowance start sewing somewhere in the middle and stitch pieces together leaving a 2" opening for turning.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQpIglJ5fymgzL0Gk0uqKi8oRkpjxgZdzwddQjcSQsAS46N-Hs4lCH1ty3e_ap7z63b5iqnkD36qv-6l0wd8RjP8jFeU7qKMltyiAQY3cGCSAqMuw5WZuh1Gg49KG3wKYjGodDftNF8OAc/s1600/Head+Band+stp9-12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQpIglJ5fymgzL0Gk0uqKi8oRkpjxgZdzwddQjcSQsAS46N-Hs4lCH1ty3e_ap7z63b5iqnkD36qv-6l0wd8RjP8jFeU7qKMltyiAQY3cGCSAqMuw5WZuh1Gg49KG3wKYjGodDftNF8OAc/s1600/Head+Band+stp9-12.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With my pinking shears I trimmed along the the point so I don't have a lot of bulk at the point when I turn right side out. Turn your wrap right side out and press, pay attention to the opening you left and make sure it gets turned in. Topstitch around the whole wrap and it is ready to wear. I had some vintage lamp work cherries so I made some earrings to match.</div>

I was at my daughters house and she had all these little pine cones in her yard, so I picked up a few and put them in a mason jar for future projects. I decided I would try some mini glitter pine cone ornaments. They are really easy and quick to make.</div>

With my paint brush I painted a line of glue along the edges of the cone and sprinkled with glass glitter. When it was completely dry I added my metallic bakers twine.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Recently I was at Bachman's and they had a darling section of Fairy Garden accessories. It inspired me to try making a miniature house. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Supplies:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Wood Bird house from Michaels</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Small Rocks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Craft Glue</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
CelluClay Instant Papier Mache</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Paint </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Clear Acrylic Sealer - Mod Podge</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5lkEx8Hz5BLWWzlnG8_RKEYqj_PSCBA6x6TNJkyaal5IXwefSuEZ28ws92A4N2Utx4AjT7LOPKc02tCoIWCEs6tti378eKPfe_tHHhIQkFdyigVGrRV4SQvFjoZRuAR3QWG7hLYPzS4ah/s1600/Fairt+house.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5lkEx8Hz5BLWWzlnG8_RKEYqj_PSCBA6x6TNJkyaal5IXwefSuEZ28ws92A4N2Utx4AjT7LOPKc02tCoIWCEs6tti378eKPfe_tHHhIQkFdyigVGrRV4SQvFjoZRuAR3QWG7hLYPzS4ah/s400/Fairt+house.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First I took the bird house and removed the bottom and cut out the door.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I put my papier mache around the bottom half and glued the small rocks in.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last I papier mached the roof and added a chimney. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After I let it dry overnight, I sanded the roof and applied my paint. I used Martha Stewart weather crackle effect on the roof to make it look worn. Once it was done I sprayed on the acrylic sealer.</div>

The Lilacs are in bloom! This afternoon I decided I needed a Lilac bouquet and clipped some off of the many plants blooming in the backyard. They needed a little trimming anyways and the house smells wonderful! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First I wrapped and hot glued the burlap around the wreath.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrbHsUurPHr472SFkdqUpDDsuVoTD8V8AnplFnxc1DIvBuhRAnkqOsaA8_ucwREzPjojuJSsyOBpXCGFsc7AZnLC_xF5X3YbbbgrY4JxV4raE7qIgVzifIiwSuk-fD7vjLJBLXs-SpFhet/s1600/DSCN9380.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrbHsUurPHr472SFkdqUpDDsuVoTD8V8AnplFnxc1DIvBuhRAnkqOsaA8_ucwREzPjojuJSsyOBpXCGFsc7AZnLC_xF5X3YbbbgrY4JxV4raE7qIgVzifIiwSuk-fD7vjLJBLXs-SpFhet/s400/DSCN9380.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took a piece of burlap that was 3-4 times longer than the size of the wreath. Using my hot glue gun I glued the center burlap string on the end to make sure it was secure and not to pull through when gathering. Then on the other end I found the center burlap string and gently pulled it to make a gather. I attached the gathered piece to the wreath.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLchGj_UAcuRUv1hHEz9yw_51zlgSV4iGUl54hSypSUEhq1eRWuOWmIUNPnUMOleOHpL54QuCRW48IrXgWGEFsVzR1QlY9k8J7CepFVh9iTY5p8d46QQj_nOknGScWjTRXwDd3_kb9CtHN/s1600/DSCN9397.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLchGj_UAcuRUv1hHEz9yw_51zlgSV4iGUl54hSypSUEhq1eRWuOWmIUNPnUMOleOHpL54QuCRW48IrXgWGEFsVzR1QlY9k8J7CepFVh9iTY5p8d46QQj_nOknGScWjTRXwDd3_kb9CtHN/s400/DSCN9397.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made little bouquets of dried caspia, lavender and statice around the wreath. Then I glued some greenery under each little bouquet to finish it off. </div>

I haven't crocheted in a while, it seems as though I have been choosing knitting projects over crocheting. I found some quick and easy crochet projects on Ravelry. I made a few Nubbie Scrubbies and Tawashi's. The Tawashi is great for hand washing dishes. I was thinking they would also be a nice size for washing my face, I am going to have to try that out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These were free patterns on Ravelry. Below are the links. You may need to set up a account if you don't have one.</div>

My daughter purchased her first home a little over a year ago and like any new home owner she has a to do list that doesn't end. She saw this idea on pinterest and wanted to do one for Jackson and Tanner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmHHExFSw9W2X13DS65IxvD6SP13nlua0jxhqpblVJUTIBMtbsrcqQxXtRLUYyjJVu8uZdb6y8rC4GExUhx99Wm6mwAFrTO5mdPIFNEcwGtfzFP0A0mdM3JT8wGWqhmWhxzA1-JJNrhHCC/s1600/DSCN8735.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmHHExFSw9W2X13DS65IxvD6SP13nlua0jxhqpblVJUTIBMtbsrcqQxXtRLUYyjJVu8uZdb6y8rC4GExUhx99Wm6mwAFrTO5mdPIFNEcwGtfzFP0A0mdM3JT8wGWqhmWhxzA1-JJNrhHCC/s400/DSCN8735.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We ordered the 4x24 inch <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/92529529/masterpieces-vinyl-wall-quote-decal?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">wall decal</a> from a etsy shop <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/madebytheresarenee?ref=seller_info" target="_blank">madebytheresarenee</a>. She offered the decal in many colors and we ordered the dark brown. It was exactly what we wanted.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lindsay decided this was going on a short wall and wanted to do three sections.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As always we butter up to Jon for our wood projects. We had him cut us 3 - 2x23 inch boards.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We painted the boards with an expresso color, added picture hangers to the back and glued on 3 clips to each board.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lindsay applied the wall decal.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then we hung the boards. I had a hard time getting a good picture but you get the idea.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are the latest addition to my Easter crafts. Eventually I will be making green and blue eggs to coordinate with my Easter Tree, but for now I wanted to make sure I had at least two eggs done before Easter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are a few of the materials I used: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Assorted lichen, paper flowers, paper-mache eggs, Dresden trim, Caspia and a wood napkin holder.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found the rabbit clip art at Graphics Fairy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/2013/03/vintage-easter-image-best-bunny-rabbit.html" target="_blank">Rabbit Link</a></div>

<a href="http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/2011/04/easter-printable-collage-sheet-funny.html" target="_blank">Assorted Rabbits link</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I resized the images to around 1 1/2", printed out one regular and one reverse page orientation on to card stock so I could have a front and back. Then with my X-acto knife I carefully cut out the rabbits and glued them together with a small wire inserted at the bottom between the two cut outs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To get rid of the white edges on the side I used my watercolor pencils and colored it in. Then I added a few coats of Mod Podge to seal it.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut out a hole in the paper-mache egg, painted and added Dresden trim around the opening.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added some crafters clay in the bottom of the egg and created the inside of the egg. To finish it off I added a paper rose to the top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I painted the napkin rings and used them as my egg holder.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For one of my Easter crafts I decided to needle felt a rabbit. This is my first attempt at doing a rabbit. It always seems like with making the first of anything there are things I would do different when making the next one. For instance I wasn't exactly thrilled with the shape of the head, but instead of redoing it I just remind myself thats what makes it unique. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6sppp6qEJ30uUmtGL5R-RLswpIZvJekqZFTIhMkuNmSNCNA9cT4GP9icpecb9rTpRoKgA99GvodZUdJQN-V29V1Kuwd3-7jaZxOZcYSU8Uw9xBz4n5vL-_LUC2cCmObnDaMQ36c-RZieI/s1600/Felted+Easter+Bunny.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6sppp6qEJ30uUmtGL5R-RLswpIZvJekqZFTIhMkuNmSNCNA9cT4GP9icpecb9rTpRoKgA99GvodZUdJQN-V29V1Kuwd3-7jaZxOZcYSU8Uw9xBz4n5vL-_LUC2cCmObnDaMQ36c-RZieI/s400/Felted+Easter+Bunny.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I gave her a little home with felted eggs. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I go to Michaels I sometimes stop at the Dollar Tree next door to see if they have anything interesting to use for crafting. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This time I found a potted tree there. So I thought I would give making a Easter tree a shot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found these cute little wooden hen eggs at <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/CraftSupplyHouse?ref=seller_info" target="_blank">Craft Supply House</a> on Etsy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They are just under a inch long and the perfect size for this tree. I added a <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/122485437/eye-screws-set-of-3-silver-bronze-and" target="_blank">eye screw</a> to them and then coated them with <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/119526605/german-glass-glitter-easter-sampler" target="_blank">glass glitter.</a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course I had to change the pot color! I had some MS Weather Crackle effect that I had not used before so I experimented. I painted the base brown. Then painted my weather crackle effect and once that was dry I painted the top with a antique white. For my first try I was pretty happy with the results.</div>

I cut a organza bag I had into strips and used that to tie the eggs onto the tree.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last night I started making my Valentines with some heart notecards I had found at Michaels. I wanted to try to keep them simple. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First I printed Happy Valentines Day on some clear mailing labels and used some valentine borders I had from last year. Then added the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/115769414/bakers-twine-valentines-3-pack-divine" target="_blank">bakers twine</a> along the edge.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
While doing my January clean out I discovered this cashmere sweater I had saved to use for felting or mittens. I decided to try the recycled sweater mitten pattern I had. You can find several free patterns for recycled sweater mittens on the internet. I washed the sweater in hot water and put it in the dryer to shrink it up.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCUzbBEodOWd47OSYitzWqyxzBk3ZtYxtWwstimykMGemTZHpvgZpRVR7Srgm3zC0i7HFwKsrZccemuRUvgQcYTm17vXmWXTpjwtvpcd_odohbr8g2SDaDX-YulCNpf4c8YDN5CjXvOviy/s1600/Recycled+Sweater+Gloves.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="392" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCUzbBEodOWd47OSYitzWqyxzBk3ZtYxtWwstimykMGemTZHpvgZpRVR7Srgm3zC0i7HFwKsrZccemuRUvgQcYTm17vXmWXTpjwtvpcd_odohbr8g2SDaDX-YulCNpf4c8YDN5CjXvOviy/s400/Recycled+Sweater+Gloves.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
From the sweater I cut out the mitten pieces and the cuffs which will be used for the cuff portion of the mitten. The pattern suggests I used fleece for the lining but I chose to use a cotton flannel.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the cuff I needled punched a wool flower and added a button that was attached to the sweater.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have been busy reorganizing everything in my office/craft room after the holidays. January is always the perfect time to get everything back in order and ready for the new year. Of course mid stream of organizing I have to make some cosmetic changes. For instance these wood storage boxes needed a major change. I had some adhesive fabric I have been longing to use and it would be perfect for this project. I also decide to repurpose a empty candy can I had from Christmas.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-doTNU_Y2TtOPHIgaT8gjolC2pUpJBv7RinzYmrJaDjxntp4eerMPmrUfj-thxlWo4E9cyMOb57-U2yJlUbtmIU1lhS4mnHdIuYMqHXcyXKTCuz7O-OOu677YZEV8kEU4UVcJl_5KrAW/s1600/bon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-doTNU_Y2TtOPHIgaT8gjolC2pUpJBv7RinzYmrJaDjxntp4eerMPmrUfj-thxlWo4E9cyMOb57-U2yJlUbtmIU1lhS4mnHdIuYMqHXcyXKTCuz7O-OOu677YZEV8kEU4UVcJl_5KrAW/s400/bon.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The adhesive fabrics made a quick and simple change to this can. First, I applied a shipping label to the can so I would start with a white base and then added my adhesive fabric. I masked off the can and then applied some crackle effect and antiqued. I wanted it to have a old worn feel.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the wood boxes I used a Ralph Lauren Faux Technique Glaze I had left over from another project. After I applied and let dry I roughed up the corners and little with some sand paper. Then I added my adhesive fabric. I used a black Sharpie marker to changed the color of the hardware on the boxes. Then sealed everything with a thin coat of Mod Podge. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This time of year everything is better with glitter on it! I just can seem to stop glittering.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are bottle brush trees that I glittered today when I should have been doing many other things that were not as fun as this project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Supply List:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spray Adhesive, silver glass glitter, mica snowflakes, craft tac glue, vintage white paint, bells, cork tops and bottle brush trees.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijh4B9fx2syVeX8vYTggC2__jteWWuFlBEhyBtm8oNBBdf0yK3SNe4jzVbrDGlUGbYJTwfB1XFWus9b74zQrBOHCjAkp69o3nwKYUnrJLxxOoSiz3k-VVxEcS9fS1t6OORXvdJVsQBSRiv/s1600/tree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijh4B9fx2syVeX8vYTggC2__jteWWuFlBEhyBtm8oNBBdf0yK3SNe4jzVbrDGlUGbYJTwfB1XFWus9b74zQrBOHCjAkp69o3nwKYUnrJLxxOoSiz3k-VVxEcS9fS1t6OORXvdJVsQBSRiv/s400/tree.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First I lightly sprayed the tree with adhesive and sprinkled on the silver glitter. Then I took my bell and glued the top of it and stuck in the tree. I used a hemostat to hold the bells to put in the tree. It seems whenever I do a project that is small in size my fingers seem to triple in size so the hemostat makes it so a lot easier.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6QaDMoDQTOih74OmFR1j_njrOrn8WW4GpL9BemPF7tEijblY2g4oAIudEv0ENI_M7n7yhuonJQlkmSif3YuV0odIj5AHIKHvkPX8KLgdSnEGXOBr460YkkNMfcn1v0jpyNJxijQ62MbRy/s1600/tree2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6QaDMoDQTOih74OmFR1j_njrOrn8WW4GpL9BemPF7tEijblY2g4oAIudEv0ENI_M7n7yhuonJQlkmSif3YuV0odIj5AHIKHvkPX8KLgdSnEGXOBr460YkkNMfcn1v0jpyNJxijQ62MbRy/s400/tree2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I painted the cork bottoms with a vintage white paint. Once the paint was dry I applied the glue to the cork and rolled it around in the mica snowflakes. Last I took off the bottom of the tree, put a hole in the top of the cork and stuck in the tree.</div>

About a month ago I was shopping at Michaels and bought the Martha Stewart glue pad for stamping. I have been dying to give it a whirl, so today I tried it out on some gift tags. I was actually quite happy with it, but admit I was a little nervous on the first stamp because you can't really see if you got all the adhesive off the stamp. I am excited to try it out on some of my other Christmas stamps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN4F0zQf8ae0bRHKIrchTzPsOr1HtofGUf7QpiY7B7iHF1xVALd0bHSDHNoJBH71ksRbIdvGj8pPXyJpNNUvPHx4lUapY36dsADhbTPqPE2keNpQWowPkiYFp9mh7TA1CisYWGSoFKO1Sc/s1600/glitter+tag+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN4F0zQf8ae0bRHKIrchTzPsOr1HtofGUf7QpiY7B7iHF1xVALd0bHSDHNoJBH71ksRbIdvGj8pPXyJpNNUvPHx4lUapY36dsADhbTPqPE2keNpQWowPkiYFp9mh7TA1CisYWGSoFKO1Sc/s400/glitter+tag+3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The ornament gift tags were stamped with ink. Then I put a big drop of glue on one of the ornaments. I wanted the glitter to pop out and give it a dimensional look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioou7QZubXEstrS__NUVBRQed5yeYuVvpJ-e-7S42TB6X5CWE9lX92j4LqeuOCeIU6zml0967VCEdXjBojr1W-No-4HR3C7pYtcZfMVB2qdv5Wjz9Hkvp4UB6_usOMamu3VTRISvmrobEC/s1600/glitter+tag+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioou7QZubXEstrS__NUVBRQed5yeYuVvpJ-e-7S42TB6X5CWE9lX92j4LqeuOCeIU6zml0967VCEdXjBojr1W-No-4HR3C7pYtcZfMVB2qdv5Wjz9Hkvp4UB6_usOMamu3VTRISvmrobEC/s400/glitter+tag+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I applied my glitter and then gently shook off the extra. You don't want to shake to hard otherwise the glue drop will move and become oblong. The snowflake gift tag was where I stamped with my glue pad and then applied glitter and shook off extra. When they were all dry I added the bakers twine.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These glitter snowflakes make a great tree ornament or you could add some fish line and hang them from a light for a snowy effect. Either way they are beautiful!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You'll need a snowflake punch, card stock, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/110200833/german-glass-glitter-retro-christmas" target="_blank">glass glitter</a>, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/109584074/craft-tac-glue-2-oz" target="_blank">glue</a> and a paint brush. I bought some card stock paper that coordinates with the glass glitter. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinNO_Fd-LKNHtF3djhZzMU_KF8_SausR2mA1ZUdumTc53OOa7unndPIgnV6_97a1Tglc8LVGQ4WTLahaXjWjrgSdqk-ywKu2AaOMFFQm8MZsXBKb9kvnB2FKhnvzR0Y9lrUxKhm8Y9ZOv-/s1600/DSCN5952.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="342" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinNO_Fd-LKNHtF3djhZzMU_KF8_SausR2mA1ZUdumTc53OOa7unndPIgnV6_97a1Tglc8LVGQ4WTLahaXjWjrgSdqk-ywKu2AaOMFFQm8MZsXBKb9kvnB2FKhnvzR0Y9lrUxKhm8Y9ZOv-/s400/DSCN5952.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I punched out my snowflakes. I glued two of the snowflakes together to make it a bit firmer. Punched a hole at the top for my hook. Then I brushed on the glue and sprinkled with glass glitter. I found it to be easier to glue and glitter sections of the snowflake at a time verses the whole thing. I let the front dry and then did the back. Now they are ready for my tree, when I actually get a chance to put it up!</div>

There are a lot of tree ornaments that are symbolic. For instance the pickle, which is a sign of good luck. It would be the last ornament placed on the tree but hidden. On Christmas morning the first child to find it would be rewarded an extra gift from St. Nick. It was started so children would appreciate all the ornaments on the tree and not just what was under it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then we have the mushroom, it was displayed on Christmas trees in Germany in honor of the peoples reverence for nature and in hope of good luck in the New Year. This year since I already have a pickle, I thought I would add some mushrooms. I could use a little more good luck.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the quick and dirty on how I made them. I removed the floral wire from the bottom of the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/108907814/12-red-spun-cotton-mushrooms" target="_blank">spun cotton mushroom</a>, added a eye screw on the top (because of the lacquer top I used my x-acto knife to poke a small hole to help the screw get started) and inserted a skewer on the bottom so it would be easier to handle. With a paint brush I brushed glue on the mushroom top and sprinkled with german glass glitter. Instead of a traditional hook I chose to use <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/112692731/bakers-twine-christmas-3-pack-divine" target="_blank">bakers twine</a>. I am going to make a few extra to add them to my gift tags for Christmas.</div>

This little strawberries are great for drawers or slip them over a hanger in your closet. I love the smell of lavender it is a nice clean , calming scent. When I was making these the whole room was lit up with the scent of lavender.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the strawberry base I made a circle and cut it in half and cut about 1/5 of it off. I then stitched some seed beads on the top.</div>

With baking season just around the corner I thought I would share one of my favorite aprons to make. I like it because it is very fast and easy to make and it has lots of coverage especially for us messing bakers! The pattern for this apron is in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZO6GIQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B005ZO6GIQ&linkCode=as2&tag=ginderellas-20%22%3EFrench%20General:%20Home%20Sewn:%2030%20Projects%20for%20Every%20Room%20in%20the%20House%3C/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=ginderellas-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B005ZO6GIQ%22%20width=%221%22%20height=%221%22%20border=%220%22%20alt=%22%22%20style=%22border:none%20!important;%20margin:0px%20!important;%22%20/%3E" target="_blank">French General's Home Sewn book</a>. This Halloween I thought I would make cards for Jackson and Tanner, since most of the store bought cards are way over priced and boring. And I get to use up some of my Halloween stash. </div>

Below are directions for a basic pop-up card. </div>

<ol>
<li style="text-align: left;"> With a piece of card stock score a line in the center to fold in half. Then score a line 1" above and one below the center to about 3/4" from the edge of the paper.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Use an x-acto knife and cut from the top corner of the scored line to the bottom corner of the scored line. Repeat on other side.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Fold the scored lines as shown to make your first pop-up.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">For the second pop-up score another line 1" below the other scored line. Draw lines from the center scored line to the score line you just made. </li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Cut on the lines with your x-acto knife.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Fold the scored lines for second pop out.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">You can flip it if you want the 2nd pop-up on the bottom.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">For this one I am going to have the pop-up on top. I cut out 2 small pieces on the center scored line. These are what I will be attaching my stars too.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Take another piece of card stock a little bigger than your other piece and score in the middle</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Fold in half and make sure your pop-ups are folded correctly and the card will lay flat.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Glue the back sides of your pop-up piece, match up the centers of each piece and press into place.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">The finished card.</li>
